FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Rumors were circulating social media Wednesday morning that an active shooter situation had occurred at Fort Campbell.
Officials said via Twitter and Facebook that these rumors are not true:

Military Police are only conducting security checks on inbound and outbound traffic. [ Msg 2 of 2 ]

“Fort Campbell IS NOT on lock down nor is there an active shooter on post. Security checks are being made at the gates for both incoming and exiting traffic. Please refrain from fueling the rumor mill,” officials said in a Facebook post.
