CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) — A 3 year old child who was shot Friday evening at a home on Samantha Lane died from his injuries.
Police responded to a 911 call at 5:26 p.m. following a report that a child accidentally shot himself. A 3-year-old boy was found inside the home with a gunshot wound to the head.
The child was transported by ambulance to Tennova Hospital in Clarksville where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The child and his parents live in Fort Riley, Kansas. Their connection to the Samantha Lane resident had not been established.
The .40 caliber pistol is owned by the resident. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. Detective Chris Nolder is the lead investigator.
