CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Auditions for the upcoming production of “Dearly Beloved” at the Cumberland Arts Centre will be held on July 11 and 12 at 7 p.m.
According to the director, Art Conn, 4 men and 7 women are needed for this show and older actors are encouraged to audition.
“Dearly Beloved”, by playwrights Jones, Hope, Wooten, is the first in a series about the Futrelle Sisters from Fayro, Texas. The Futrelle sisters were introduced to the Clarksville audiences during past productions at Cumberland Arts Centre in “Christmas Belles” and “Dashing Through the Snow”.
In “Dearly Beloved”, the Futrelle sisters, Frankie, Honey Raye and Twink are throwing an antebellum-inspired wedding for Frankie’s daughter, Tina Jo.
But Twink’s desperate attempts to get her boyfriend of fifteen-and-one-half years down the aisle, Frankie’s ongoing conversations with their dead mother, and Honey Raye’s tendency to race to the altar at every opportunity have kept tongues wagging for years. In spite of her own marital problems, Frankie has held steadfastly to the hope that she can pull off one “final Futrelle occasion” with elegance and style with the help of the cantankerous wedding coordinator, Miss Geneva, who runs the local floral shop/bus depot.
Actors wishing to audition will read from the script. Monologue and head-shots are not required. For more information contact the director at: art@artconnproductions.com or call the theatre at (931) 552-1106 and leave a message.
