CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been charged with his second DUI in a little over a week after allegedly crashing into a building with his vehicle.
According to a press release, a Cadillac crashed into a motorcycle shop at 2135 Lowes Dr. shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.
Police found the car unoccupied, but a witness described a white male who had fled the scene moments before police arrived. Officers discovered 25-year-old Jonathan Shehata, a Clarksville resident with a New York driver’s license, at a nearby Bar and Grill and linked him to the crash.

During a search, police also seized a semi-automatic pistol from Shehata.
Shehata was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Violation of Implied Consent, and Possession of a Firearm with Alcohol.
The suspect was previously charged with DUI on June 21 after a crash with another vehicle at Needmore Rd. and Union Hall Rd., about a mile from the Lowes Dr. crash. In that crash, the report listed Shehata as driving a Dodge Avenger.
Shehata was jailed on the new charges with a $50,000 bond.
