MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Gibbs beat Clarksville on Thursday 8-2 at Starplex #1 in seven innings.

Gibbs hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Gibbs came when Olivia Wheeler homered in the third inning, Abby Hicks homered in the fifth inning, and Kayley Kern homered in the seventh inning.

Sierra Hucklebee had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. She doubled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Abby Hicks was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for Gibbs. Abby Hicks pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out four.

Lindsey Eldridge took the loss for Clarksville. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out four.

Gibbs got two-run boosts in each of the third, fifth and seventh. In the third, Gibbs scored on a two-run home run by Wheeler, scoring Leah Sohm.

Clarksville defeated Stewarts Creek 12-1 earlier in the day.
