CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Sango Pharmacy is the first pharmacy in Clarksville to become Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified. City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Montgomery County Chief of Staff Jeff Truitt,
City of Clarksville Chief of Administration Charlie Gentry, and Chamber of Commerce President Melinda Shepherd were there to congratulate the owner and employees of Sango Pharmac

Pharmacist and owner Catherine Meeks led the certification effort for her businesses’ certification. “We were already recycling all that we could, especially since most of our products come in cardboard boxes, and we now use Bi-County for our recycling services. We recycle medicine bottles and we encourage our customers to bring any unused medication back to us so we can dispose of them properly and keep them from being put into our water system.

We’ve cut back on the amount of printing we do and communicate with our customers electronically when possible. In addition, we’ve cut back on energy use by adjusting thermostats and changing some of the light fixtures. Conservation is something we think is important so we are doing what we can to lessen our impact,” said Meeks.
