CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Girl Scouts from Troop 779 will hold Hats 4 Happiness, a knit-a-thon, at 317 Franklin St. on May 8, 2016.
Inspired by a Montgomery Central Middle School student who died of cancer, the scouts will knit hats and headbands for children with cancer to help boost their self esteem while dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy.
The public is invited to come to the event and create. No experience is needed, the scouts are happy to provide instruction.
Full details about this event and the Hats 4 Happiness movement can be found on Facebook or contact Girl Scout Mom, Kendall Welsh at 931-237-3298.
Hats 4 Happiness is a Silver Award project by Girl Scouts Ryleigh Welsh, Kara Liberatore, and Marlena Jones. The Silver Award is the second highest award that a Girl Scout can earn.
