HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a two-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 77 mile-marker, on Wednesday, April 6 at 3:59 p.m.
Phillip Faulkner, 60, Hopkinsville, was operating a 2004 Toyota Tundra eastbound on I-24. Daniel Miller, 28, Arcola, IL, was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on I-24 approaching Faulkner’s vehicle from behind.
Miller’s vehicle rear-ended Faulkner’s vehicle in the travel (right) lane. Faulkner’s vehicle slid sideways and exited the right shoulder of the roadway. It overturned and came to rest upright, off the roadway. Miller’s vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.
Faulkner was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Miller was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Police located a firearm in Miller’s vehicle. A records check of the weapon revealed that it had been reported stolen from Marshall County.
Miller was arrested without incident and booked into the Christian County Jail on the following charges:
1) Receiving Stolen Property – Firearm
2) Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
The investigation is ongoing.
