CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A couple’s wooden storage shed was destroyed by fire Monday around 1 p.m. on Joy Drive.
According to Fire Marshal Ray Williams, the elderly couple was home at the time of the blaze. They were not injured.
The shed is detached from the house, but flames did damage some of the vinyl siding on the home.
“It did not get into the home, we’re really fortunate with that,” Williams said.
The resident was mowing the lawn earlier in the day, and a witness told investigators the lawnmower may have been the cause. Williams believes high winds may also have been a factor in spreading the flames.
The lawnmower, a truck, and a small fishing boat were inside the shed at the time.
