CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, welcomed Austin Peay State University Head Football Coach Will Healy as their guest Tuesday, March 22. The appearance coincided with the opening of spring practice for the Governors football team.
Healy shared his vision for the Austin Peay football program. ”I obviously want to win championships, I believe we can win championships here. I’ve see a blueprint for what it takes to be successful and I believe we have every resource here we need to make that happen,” said Healy.
The coach talked about the importance of recruiting good people, referrin to his assistant coaches, and good students for the football program. Healy said he signed 26 players this year and it was very important for him to recruit players that he trusted and liked to be around.
The Governors football season kicks-off September 3 against Troy with the first home game September 10 as the Govs take on Tennessee Tech which is also AP Family Day. The Governors Sports Network, ESPN Clarksville, will carry all of the APSU season football games on 100.7 FM and 540 AM.
