We’re mad about March at the Y. That’s because March brings a national celebration of two things we really care about: healthy eating and physical activity. With National Nutrition Month and the NCAA Tournament taking place at the same time, we couldn’t help but brainstorm fun ways to bring the two together.

The end result? Meal Madness, a month-long competition in which our favorite healthy foods from each region of the food pyramid face off for the championship title. Which will be left standing? The ever-popular Brussels Sprouts? The versatile Eggs? The long-overlooked Apricots?

The best part is—you get to do the picking. Fill out your bracket by checking out the match-ups each week and casting your vote to determine which foods should advance to the next round. Along the way, you’ll get nutrition stats, food preparation tips, and winning recipes to inspire your next healthy meal.

Stick with us until the end and be entered to win a free nutrition counseling session with the Y’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and even a grocery gift card or two. If history and statistics tell us anything, you’ll come out of this contest in better shape compared to your March Madness office pool.

So join us for some (literally) healthy competition this month! Click here to start voting and receiving updates on the tournament.
