CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Uber has officially announced that the company will begin offering services to Clarksville-Montgomery County on Thursday, March 3 at noon.
Cheatham County residents will also be able to use the service.
The driver service company powered by a smartphone app exists in major cities across the U.S. and globally and allows users to forego traditional taxi service by calling for a ride at the touch of a button.
Mayor Kim McMillan will be the first Clarksville resident to request an Uber ride during an opening ceremony Thursday morning.
“I am so excited that Uber is extending their service to the Clarksville area,” Mayor McMillan said. “Uber’s 24/7 availability provides Clarksville residents and visitors alike with another option for a reliable and affordable ride throughout the City.”
