CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Academy is proud to announce that Evelyn Turner has been selected for the 2016 Tennessee’s 36th Annual Homecoming Queen state competition on March 12.

Evelyn is a senior at Clarksville Academy where she is involved in many activities. Evelyn currently serves as Key Club, National Honors Society, FCA & FBLA President as well as serving on the Mayor’s Youth Council and as part of Youth Leadership Clarksville’s Class of 2016. She also served as Captain of the Varsity Cross Country team for the fall season.

During her junior year she served as Student Council Class President as well as Division 15 Lieutenant Governor of the Key Club for Kentucky-Tennessee and served as the CA representative to Girls State. Evelyn was just named Clarksville Academy’s 2016 Valedictorian. Evelyn is continually giving back to her school and community through various works of service. She has donated more than 900 hours over the last four years to community service through volunteer service hours.

Head of Upper School, Erica Coleman commented, “Evelyn embodies a true student leader. Her willingness to help her school and community in any way she can, makes her an outstanding candidate for this honor. We are so proud of Evelyn and wish her the best of luck in the competition.”

Evelyn is excited to attend the 36th Annual Homecoming Queen state competition on March 12. She will compete against Homecoming Queens across the state for the title of Tennessee’s American Homecoming Queen. The winner will receive various scholarships and be eligible to compete on the national level.
