Trading stories and sharing a favorite book or song with a new friend. Being greeted with smiles and high-fives from staff and team-mates after scoring the winning point. Always fitting in, just for being you. This is what the Y’s day camp is all about, and we are ensuring kids get more out of summer: more learning, more exploration and more achievement.
The Clarksville Area YMCA provides opportunities like these, and so much more through YMCA Day Camp. Campers engage in a different theme each week, learning new skills while making friends and having fun.
In Y-Spy Detective Day Camp, campers hone critical thinking skills as they work together to solve a mystery. Science in Action Day Camp provides a week full of hands-on experiments. Campers can also explore other countries and cultures, wildlife and still life, the past and the future through a variety of additional themes, including Around the World in Five Days, Critters and Creatures, In the Wild, A Brush of Fun, Jurassic Adventure and more.
At the Y, we believe that the experiences kids have now will shape the kind of adult they will become. That’s why we make sure that in addition to teaching new skills and providing exciting learning opportunities, YMCA Day Camp also incorporates character values like caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into every activity. The Y gives everyone a place where they belong and feel safe to learn, grow and thrive.
