PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Twenty-one Fort Campbell High School (FCHS) students participated in the Indiana University Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held Feb. 19-21, 2016, on the Bloomington, Ind., campus.
The FCHS students were very active within their committees which included debate, resolution writing, amending resolutions, passing directives and some even wrote and had their own resolutions passed, according to Kenneth Jankowski, MUN instructor and advisor.
“We had a total of seven award winners. This was one of the most successful groups we have had the honor of sponsoring,” said Jankowski. “Ms. Kesha Ladd, Ms. Martha Speake and I are so proud of our students. We tied with Carmel High School, a school in Indiana with nearly 6,000 students, for the most awards won!”

The award winners are:
BEST DELEGATE: (the most prestigious award a participant can get).
Tyler Hardy (12th) for her work as the Dominican Republic in the Commission on
the Status of Women.
Caitlin Hertzendorf (12th) for her work as Algeria in the Humans Rights
Council.
Caitlin Merrell (12th) for her work as Egypt in the Disarmament and
International Security Committee.
“Only nine students out of 250 students could win Best Delegate and these girls were three of them,” Mr. Jankowski said.
