CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The annual Rivers & Spires Festival returns for three big days, April 14-16 in historic downtown Clarksville.

The award-winning festival features live music, interactive entertainment, food and children’s activities.

Headlining this year’s event is country Kellie Pickler, Saturday, April 16 on the Public Square Stage at 7:30 p.m. Recent ‘American Idol’ alum Tristan McIntosh will join Pickler on stage.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday, April 14th with the Beaver Country Songwriter Showcase on the Public Square stage. The Showcase features three superstar songwriters: Casey Beathard, Phil O’Donnell and Jimmy Melton. Opening for the Country Songwriter Showcase is the winner of the Beaver Country Songwriter Search.

Another local talent search is z97.5’s Last Band Standing. The Midsouth’s best rock bands will battle it out on Friday and Saturday night to earn the title of Last Band Standing.

Q108 will host a Silent Disco, Q108 Foam Party, and Q It Up local music showcase.

The most popular area, the award-winning Family Fun Zone hosted by First Baptist Church, has fantastic activities for kids from toddlers to teens, located along Hiter and Commerce Streets.

The Annual Children’s Parade has a ‘Superhero’ theme this year and will be held at 1 p.m on Saturday.

For the gamer in your life, CDE Lightband will be hosting their Fast Fiber Gaming Area. The underground parking garage located off of Franklin Street will be transformed into a modern day arcade, packed full of console and pc games for participants to play.

The Sports Zone hosted by Fortera Credit Union is filled with activities and booths geared especially for the sports enthusiast. Open on Friday, April 15, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., APSU and local youth sports leagues will have mini-clinics in a variety of sports.

Other areas include the Military Zone, International Zone, shopping in the Marketplace, and the Arts Galore area.

Hours this year are: April 14 and 15 from 5-10 p.m. and April 16 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. The Family Fun Zone Hours: Friday, April 15 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Toddler Town Hours: Friday, April 15 from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
