MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – Sunday night/Monday morning brought some of the coldest temperatures of this winter to the mid-state, and more winter weather may be on the way according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will calm tonight, but single digit lows are expected Tuesday morning.

Montgomery County and surrounding areas are expected to get a wintry mix of snow Wednesday with sleet and freezing rain possible before noon.

Some ice accumulations are also possible, which could impact travel in Middle Tennessee.

Temperatures are expected to warm back above freezing Wednesday afternoon and melt any accumulated ice.

By Thursday, rain will move into the area that could turn into snow by daybreak Friday with a chance of accumulations.
