Jackie Lynn Kleinhesselink Ahlers, age 48, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Jackie was born in 1967, at the US Naval Hospital, in Guam. She was raised in San Diego, CA and graduated from Our Lady of Peace Catholic High School in 1985. She joined the army in June 1987. After her training, she was stationed in Augburg, Germany, where she met and married John R. Ahlers. She got out of the army and raised her three children, all over the world, as a military spouse. They spent a total of three years in Korea, ten years in Germany, and four years stateside on assignments, ending at Fort Campbell in 2014.

Over the years, she continually gave back to the military community, by serving in numerous positions, including Girl Scout Leader, FRG Leader, Catholic Sunday School Teacher, Army Family Team Building Instructor, Master Resilience Training Instructor, and most recently as the Fort Campbell Spouses Club’s Retiree Chair and PGR Ride Captain.

Jackie is survived by her husband of over 26 years, John R. Ahlers; three children, Robert Ahlers (25), Shelly Ahlers (Michael) Kelly (22), and Nicholas Ahlers (20); father, Arthur Kleinhesselink; and brother, Scott Kleinhesselink.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Ann Scott Kleinhesselink.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23, at 10:30 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
