CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACAC) is partnering with Clarksville Outdoor Adventures to invite the community to participate in a special hike with shelter dogs.
Participants can meet up at MCACAC (616 N. Spring Street) Sunday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. The hike is a 1.5 mile loops through the nearby cemetery.
Larger dogs may take the loop twice, and guests can swap out dogs for a second hike.
Each participant is required to contribute $15.50 (through your RSVP) to purchase Remington corded dog slip leashes that will be donated to the shelter.
The ASPCA indicates that of the roughly 3.9 million dogs entering shelters per year, approximately 31 percent are euthanized. Socialization and exercise can reduce kennel related stress and anxiety and improve a shelter dog’s behavior, making them more likely to be adopted.
What to bring:
• You may bring a guest but only one dog per RSVP.
• Gatorade or water for yourself.
• Dog treats are allowed!
• Optional donations: old shirts or old jeans to make enrichment toys for the dogs and cats, dog treats, old towels
• No personal pets allowed.
RSVP online and find more information on the Clarksville Outdoor Adventures website.
