CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – As the season changes and temperatures begin to fall, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is working hard to help many people who are struggling to stay warm, and helped is needed from the community to accomplish this mission.
Each year throughout the winter months, United Way collects donated heaters as well as monetary donations which are used to buy heaters to give to those who need them. Heaters of all different sizes and types are accepted and greatly appreciated.
“At this time of year, images emerge of the warmth of a cozy home, our favorite sweaters and sipping hot chocolate by the fire. Yet, this is picture is not reality for many in our community. In response to the number of calls we receive from those with no heat, United Way extends a call to action for help.
We will be accepting and distributing donations of heaters, as well as cold weather attire. These items are particularly in need for the elderly, disabled, chronically ill and families with young children,” said Ginna Holleman, Executive Director of United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region.
If you would like to help someone stay warm, donated heaters can be dropped off at the United Way office at 529 N. 2nd Street, Suite 1 in Clarksville or for more information about the heater collection drive call the United Way at 931-647-4291.
