CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Gateway Medical Center has been approved to build a new satellite emergency department in the Sango area of Montgomery County.

The new facility, which will be located on Highway 76, just east of I-24 near exit 11, will have eight examination and treatment rooms and will be open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

According to Gateway, the facility’s purpose will be to treat patients with illnesses and injuries that require a higher level of care than urgent care facilities or physician clinics offer.

“We want to thank our local leaders for their support of this important project that will improve access to emergency services in our community and meet the needs of our growing population,” said Benita Martina, spokesperson for Gateway. “Gateway is proud to serve the growing region in Clarksville-Montgomery County and the surrounding areas. We remain committed to providing high quality healthcare close to home.”

The application for the new facility was approved by the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency.
