CWO3 (US Army Retired) William Daniel Sheehan, age 76, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015, at Gateway Medical Center.
William was born in 1939, in Oak Forest, IL, to the late Robert Sheehan and Loretta Bunyea Sheehan. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Sheehan served 23 years of combined service, between the US Marine Corps and the US Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He was a Purple Heart recipient and worked in civil service in Desert Shield. William was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside service will be held Monday, October 26, at 1:00 PM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – West, with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday, October 26, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.
William is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Moynihan Sheehan; two sons, Tim (Erica) Sheehan of Bedford, IN and Dan Sheehan of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, David Sheehan of Florida, Dennis Sheehan of Minnesota, and Tim Sheehan of Illinois; three sisters, Mary Kalins of Illinois, Alice Wolke of Florida, and Rita Hanke of Minnesota; three grandchildren, Brittanie Sheehan, Colin Sheehan, and Zachary Sheehan; and great granddaughter, Chloe Sheehan.
