NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that star quarterback Marcus Mariota has a sprained MCL, according to WKRN News 2.
The announcement was made after Mariota underwent an MRI after he took a blow to the knee during Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Whisenhunt added that Mariota is walking around fine. The coach plans to see how things go this week before making any kind of calls for the next game.
“We aren’t going to do anything to put him in any kind of jeopardy,” he said.
Mariota went down after he was hit on a passing play during the second quarter, and Dolphins linebacker Olivier Vernon was flagged 15 yards for the low hit.
