MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is asking the community for help in identifying a burglary suspect.

The suspect has been captured on video surveillance camera and is believed to be responsible for the theft of a 1999 Silver Chevy Malibu, cell phone, and $300 in cash.

The theft occurred at the Woody’s Pizza location on Dover Rd on October 13, at approximately 5:39 p.m.

The suspect appears to be a white male with a small frame, short brown hair, and an unkempt beard, possibly between the ages of 22 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches, and 150 to 170 pounds. At the time of the theft the suspect was wearing a black shirt and black shorts.

A Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) agent observed a suspicious vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle in the area of Corbandale Rd. When the TWRA agent attempted to make a traffic stop the suspect fled at a high rate of speed.

TWRA and MCSO pursued the vehicle down Palymra Rd. and Jarman Hollow Rd. At the end of Jarman Hallow Rd. the suspect made a right turn and attempted to drive on the railroad tracks. When the vehicle would no longer drive, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies and K-9 attempted to track the suspect.

The owner of the vehicle, Jessany Coleman, works at Woody’s Pizza as a server. The day of the theft a delivery driver was late getting to work so Coleman offered to help deliver pizzas until his arrival. Between deliveries is when the suspect stole her car.

Coleman, a single mother, had $300 and a cell phone stolen from her car. The $300 was money she had saved from tips for her son’s birthday party and presents. Her son’s birthday is Friday, Oct. 16. His party and presents had to be cancelled.

“He got my iPhone with all the pictures of my son. I will never be able to get that back,” said Coleman. “But I am grateful the deputies were at least able to recover my vehicle. It could have been worse.”

Anyone with any information pertaining to this crime is urged to call the MCSO at 931-648-0611 or Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS(8477).
