MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A car and a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) were involved in a crash Thursday evening on Hwy 149 in Montgomery County.
According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, the car was traveling north when it crossed the center line. The CMV was traveling south and drove onto the shoulder in an attempt to avoid a crash, but the car stuck the front axle of the trailer.
After the impact, the car traveled back across the road and came to a stop, trapping the driver inside.
Paramedics extracted the driver form the car and he was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.
The driver’s brother was riding in the passenger seat but was not injured.
A third vehicle ran off the road into the wood line to avoid hitting the other vehicles involved.
The driver if the third vehicle and the driver of the CMV were not injured.
The crash is under investigation, but investigators believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor. Names were not released.
