Earl E. Eighmy, 96 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Signature Healthcare of Clarksville.
Earl was born on September 22, 1919, in Taylor County, IA to the late Gayol Eighmy and Letha Perkins Eighmy. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eighmy; brother, Ivan Eighmy; and sister, Mildred Goslin.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Kathy Fox officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Earl returned to Clarksville after serving in WWII. He worked at Ft. Campbell as an Automotive Inspector. He was a partner in the Clarksville Flying Club from 1948-1952, where he gave flight training. His passions included his family, flying, blue grass music, antique cars, and hard work.
Earl is survived by two sons, Joe Eighmy of Clarksville, TN and John (Bettye) Eighmy of Dickson, TN; daughter, Margaret Eighmy (Dennis) Goslin; two sisters, Lorraine DeBolt and Marie Babcock; three grandchildren, Weston (Lisa) Eighmy, Angela Eighmy, and Sarah Eighmy; and one great-grandchild, Madison Yoreck.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macedonia Presbyterian Church or The St. Labre Indian School.
