CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 23rd Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. in the Morgan University Center at Austin Peay State University.

The event will include a buffet style breakfast, a salute to our Veterans, students from Clarksville Kiwanis Club’s Memories of Service and Sacrifice Project’s “Interview a Veteran Contest,” and CW3 (R) Scott Schroeder as the keynote speaker.

Scott Schroeder was born in January of 1966 and grew up in typical fashion in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He is the eldest child and has two younger brothers.

At 20, Scott decided that he would enlist in the Army for three years; it gave Scott a new perspective that led him to a career in the 5th Special Forces Group. Over the years, Scott rose through the ranks to become a Master Sergeant. In 2004, he was recruited and made the choice to change again to attend the Warrant Officer Candidate Course.

Scott loves the Army and Special Forces, but recognizes that a career in Special Forces is similar to a career in professional sports. It can be great while it lasts, but it won’t last forever. “We all expect to have to retire at some time but no one expects to have a career ended by injury”, says Scott.

Join us on November 7th as Scott shares his story. Please RSVP to Yvonne Pickering at 931-245-4340 or yvonnep@clarksville.tn.us.

Cost for the event is $20 per person.
