CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A pair of Green Berets is traveling the country to raise awareness for nonprofits that support service members, veterans, and their families.

The Green Beret Adventure Team will soon make a special stop in Clarksville.

The group was founded by Zach Garner and Adam Smith after Garner experienced difficulty transitioning to civilian life following his medical discharge from the military. Both men are former Green Berets.

Earlier this year, Garner and Smith decided to travel across the country on The Ride to Valhalla for the Task Force Dagger Foundation, which raises awareness for those suffering from PTSD and TBI. The foundation is dedicated to providing immediate assistance to wounded, ill, or injured soldiers and their families, and the families of casualties from the United States Army Special Operations Command. The organization has helped Garner and his family in the past.

The Green Beret Adventure Team will stop at Appleton Harley-Davidson Friday, Oct. 2. Proceeds from the barbecue will go to the Task Force Dagger Foundation.

Keep up with Garner and Smith’s journey on the Green Beret Adventure Team’s Facebook page.

Those who wish to donate to The Ride to Valhalla can find more information on the fundraiser’s Crowd Rise page.
