CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Montgomery County Commissioner and Clarksville City Councilman have come up with a plan for an inter-local agreement on a proposed civic plaza for Downtown Clarksville.

Commissioner Tommy Vallejos and Councilman Joel Wallace announced the plan at a roundtable discussion Monday night.

The County Commission will consider the project at its next meeting in September.

County Mayor Jim Durrett says he hopes city Mayor Kim McMillan will get on board. McMillan was absent from Monday night’s discussion to due a previously planned medical procedure.

The groups have gone back and forth on the proposed project for several weeks.
