By Gretchen Cordy, Mornings with Ryan and Gretchen on Q108

Ryan and I recently heard about a coffee shop in LA that was offering a waffle cup coated with chocolate for a $5 dollar upgrade. It made us think about how great a pie crust cup would be with a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, which is Ryan’s favorite fall beverage.

I went into the Q108 test kitchen (otherwise known as my kitchen) to see if it was possible…and it is! Here is a step-by-step recipe so you can create some for yourself. In retrospect, I would use a much smaller glass as a form as this turned out to be too large a desert for most mortals …Ryan however had no problem finishing it! As for the Pumpkin Spice Latte, there are some pretty great recipes available online that actually include real pumpkin. If you are buying yours premade, have them hold the whipped cream so you can add it fresh just before serving. Enjoy!

First let me say I tried this with store bought pie crusts with disastrous results, and since making your own crust requires few ingredients and takes little time, I found that’s the way to go!

Ingredients for Crust Cups:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
¾ cup chilled butter
6 to 7 tablespoons ice water

Ingredients for White Chocolate Cinnamon Coating:
1 bag white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon cinnamon (more if desired)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
