CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Police responded to an armed robbery call Wednesday, July 10 around 5 p.m.

According to a report from the Clarksville Police Department, the victim said she received a call from a friend, Brian Merriwether, July 9. Merriwether, 42, said his car was overheated at a local business and needed a ride.

When the woman went to meet Merriwether, she said he pointed a silver revolver at her and demanded money. The victim told him she didn’t have anything, and Merriwether walked to her car and grabbed her purse, then threatened to kill her if she called police. The woman told police he said he had killed someone before and gotten away with it.

Merriwether left the scene in an older model Cadillac, heading toward the interstate with prescription medication, jewelry, money, and credit cards belonging to the victim. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
