CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Approximately five to six inches of snow fell in the Clarksville/Fort Campbell/Hopkinsville area overnight and into Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service says snow is expected to continue falling through noon Tuesday. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through that time.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says most roads are covered in snow and remain slick, including main and secondary roads in the city and county. County roads are especially slick as of 8:30 a.m. If you don’t need to drive, it is best to stay home.

Temperatures will drop out of the 20s, into the teens, and down to single digits by Tuesday evening.
Wind chills of minus 1 to minus 3 can be expected by this evening, with dangerous wind chills expected over all of the Mid-State tonight. Wind chills of minus 5 to minus 10 will be common by late tonight.
A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the area from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 9 a.m. Tuesday. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
Roads will become snow covered and slippery and, with temperatures remaining below freezing until Thursday, the snow will stick around for a couple of days.
City and county offices are closed Tuesday, as well as schools. Fort Campbell is functioning on limited operations only.
The Clarksville Street Department has added three road graders to its force of 30 trucks to help move snow off of City streets.
Forecasters say roads are snow covered and slippery, and with temperatures remaining below freezing until Thursday, the snow will stick around for a couple of days.
Most Clarksville Transit System buses are running “snow routes,” whereby buses avoid hilly areas and stay on the main roads, until further notice. More bus and city utility info.
