MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – Two Montgomery Central High School students were killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday evening on Old Highway 48 in Montgomery County.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Zachary Fagan, 17, and Taryn Culpepper, 17, were traveling too fast east on Old Highway 48 near Martha’s Chapel Rd. around 8 p.m. when Fagan lost control of the vehicle as he was negotiating a curve.
The Toyota left the roadway and hit a tree on the driver side of the vehicle. The report said drugs and alcohol were not involved and both victims were wearing seat belts.
A source close to the family says the two students were in a relationship.
