CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man has been charged with DUI and murder after a passenger in his vehicle died.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year old Trina McAllister Akin of Trigg County fell out of a moving vehicle driven by 31-year-old Brandon Pickett on Striped Bridge Road in Herndon, KY around 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 28.
Akin died from her injuries while being transported to the hospital.
Pickett was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with murder and driving under the influence.
An autopsy on Akin’s body is scheduled for Wednesday and the investigation is still ongoing. Pickett is being held in the Christian County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
Further information about the murder charge has not been released.
