CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 2-year-old girl was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday evening on E. Knolwwod Circle in Clarksville.
The call was received by police around 5:13 p.m.
According to Officer Natalie Hall, the incident occurred on the roadway near the intersection of Hietts Lane.
2-year-old Delany Garner was transported by EMS to Tennova and died from her injuries.
The driver has been identified as 27-year-old Joseph Pennington.
Jim Fry, who owns apartments across the street from where the child was killed, said he heard screaming and ran outside. He said he saw the child’s mother holding her in her arms and sobbing.
This is an ongoing investigation. There is no further information at this time. An update will be released when new information becomes available.
