CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A teenager was shot while riding his bicycle in a Clarksville neighborhood Tuesday evening.

Clarksville police said officers responded to the shots fired call around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Vanleer Street and Ford Street. When officers arrived they found a teenage boy lying on the ground off the side of the road at Vanleer Street.

Police said the teen was conscious and talking. He was taken by Lifeflight to a Nashville area hospital. As of Wednesday morning he is in stable condition.

A white vehicle was caught on video leaving the scene of the shooting.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe this was not a random shooting and the general public is not in danger.
