Teen crashes into minivan, charged with DUI

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Multiple injuries were reported from a crash involving two vehicles on Purple Heart Parkway Thursday, Sept. 19 around 8:45 a.m.

According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Ford Windstar minivan carrying 2 passengers attempted to make a left turn onto Lafayette Road when a Honda Civic, driven by Patrick Givens, 19, crashed into the right passenger side of the minivan.

The driver and passengers of the minivan were injured and transported to Gateway Medical Center. The passenger of the Honda Civic was treated at the scene.

Givens was found to be under the influence at the time of the crash and charged with DUI and underage consumption after he was treated for his injuries.

All those involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. No further information is available at this time.
