STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A longtime bus driver died Monday morning when he experienced a medical emergency after dropping students off at school.

According to Leta Joiner, the assistant director of Stewart County schools, 74-year-old Fred Mann pulled out onto Highway 79 when the bus slowly went into a ditch across from Stewart County High School.

CPR was administered and the driver was taken to Henry County Medical Center and has since died.

Joiner said Mann had been a school bus driver for 37 years.

She said he passed a physical last month.
