CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on Fort Campbell Blvd. Monday, Dec. 16.

According to Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), a 1993 Ford Ranger, driven by Jonathan Hodge, turned left onto Lafayette Road and hit a 2005 Yamaha YZFR1, driven by LaFrederick Gray, who was traveling southbound on Fort Campbell Blvd.

Gray, an active duty soldier at Fort Campbell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Gray was traveling at a high rate of speed when he entered the intersection, but he was wearing a helmet, which was not strapped on properly.

Police do not believe alcohol is a factor in the crash, but are waiting for toxicology reports from both drivers.

The other driver was not charged. There is no further information at this time.
