MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the death of a 4-year-old child.

According to a release from MCSO, the investigation is a result of a 911 call made Friday, July 12 on Dotsonville Rd. This is an active, ongoing investigation, and because of such, MCSO will not be releasing any more information about the case.

Rob Johnson, spokesman for the Department of Children’s Services (DCS), said the department is also conducting an investigation, and had prior contact with the child’s family. Due to confidentiality laws, DCS said no further information can be released.

DCS has been under fire from media outlets since last year after misreporting the number of deaths.

Anyone with information can contact Investigator Julie Webb at 931-648-0611, ext. 1267, or Sgt. Mark Wojnarek at 931-648-0611, ext. 1225. Tips may also be sent via email to soinfo@mcgtn.net.
