CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect is in custody in a series of Twitter threats directed at West Creek High School.
The first word of an arrest came in an automated message from the Principal Christopher Neidigh which stated that he could not “go into detail about allegations at this time,” but reassured parents that the “situation is under control.”
A statement from Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson said “We have been working on this threat all night and into the early morning hours.”
Fuson confirmed the arrest of one suspect, and said his office will continue its investigation, but stated “I am confident that this is the sole suspect. As with any investigation, we cannot release too much because it is still ongoing.”
Fuson stressed that the West Creek School Campus is safe and indicated an increased law-enforcement presence until the end of the investigation.
