Safehouse receives winter clothing donation

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Safehouse director Christy Bussell recently accepted a generous donation of women’s and children’s winter clothing from City Councilwoman Kaye Jones.

Safehouse is the local shelter for women and children in need of refuge. To support the mission of the Safehouse, the Sheriff’s office collects and recycles cell phones, and all proceeds benefit the shelter. The cell phone project was started under the late Sheriff Norman Lewis and has continued with the support of Sheriff John Fuson. Funds from the cell phone recycle project are used for discretionary needs for victims of abuse.

The Safehouse is always in need of various items. To donate items such as baby diapers, linens, laundry detergent, or hygiene items, contact the Safehouse at 931-648-9100.
