CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Residents of Clarksville may be familiar with the red light cameras perched above multiple major intersections within the city, but those who ignore them could face a fine.

A total of seven red light cameras are installed at the following locations:

• Intersection of Wilma Rudolph Blvd and Dunbar Cave Rd. (northbound and southbound)
• Intersection of Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and Trenton Rd. (northbound and southbound)
• Intersection of Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and I-24 (southbound)
• Intersection of 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Whitfield Rd. (eastbound and westbound)

The cameras are placed in areas with high traffic volume.

Natalie Hall, Public Information Officer for the Clarksville Police Department, said the Clarksville Photo Enforcement Program and Payment Center are run by Redflex Traffic Systems, a company that partners with over 220 communities and operates over 2,000 traffic safety systems in the United States and Canada.

The penalty for violation of City Code Title 9, Chapter 2, Section 9-232 captured by the Photo Enforcement Program is a $50.00 civil fine sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. Fines are paid directly to the Redflex Payment Center.

Failure to respond to the notice within 30 days may result in an additional $85.75 processing fee.

Hall said these violations are not reported to the Department of Safety and will not impact driver’s license points.
