CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – A pedestrian was killed Monday morning after being struck by two vehicles on Russellville Rd. in Christian County.
Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) arrived shortly after 5:30 this morning and discovered a white male had been hit by two vehicles in the west bound lanes.
The victim, 44-year-old Dascal Shawn Martin of Bowling Green, KY was pronounced dead on the scene from injuries he sustained after being hit by the vehicles, according to Christian County Coroner Doris Lamb.
Witnesses said Martin was standing in the travel portion of the roadway. It is unclear at this time why Martin was there and why he did not move for traffic, according to the CCSO. Investigators said no criminal charges will be sought at this time for anyone involved.
Christian County Rescue Squad, Highland Volunteer Fire Department, and medics from the Hopkinsville Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
