CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) A heartwarming video teaches a valuable lesson that high school sports is about a lot more than simply winning games.
Northeast High freshman Dante Schmidt dreams of someday being a big league batboy. He made an inquiry about the possibility of getting his start with Northeast High school, where Dustin Smith is the head baseball coach.
“For two weeks he asked him every day if he could be the batboy, said Assistant Principal Abby Binkley. Dante’s persistence paid off. “Just seeing his passion and what he wanted to do, I though let’s give this kid a shot and ever since then he fit in well,” said Coach Smith.
