MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a crash on Highway 76 in Montgomery County.
According to a report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, James Johnston, 28, of Clarksville was westbound on Highway 76 headed toward Exit 11 when his motorcycle struck a car head-on at around 6:40 pm.
Investigators on the scene say alcohol was not a factor and Johnston was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the car, 52-year-old Sharon Booth of Clarksville, was injured but details of her injuries were not released.
No citations have been issued.
This is one of three local motorcycle crashes in two days. A Fort Campbell soldier was killed in a crash on I-24 West in Nashville Sunday, and two people were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 76 Monday afternoon.
