STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – UPDATE: Several police agencies are searching for the suspect in a Stewart County murder who crashed a vehicle Saturday morning near the Montgomery County line.
It’s believed that Kirby Gene Wallace was driving. The Stewart County Sheriff told residents to stay away from Honey Fork and Seven Mile Ridge Rd. as they continue the search for him.

Wallace was added to the the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Top 10 Most Wanted List on Friday.
Wallace is wanted by TBI and the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office for the murder of a woman in Indian Mound (Stewart County) last weekend. Authorities said an elderly couple came home from church and interrupted a burglary in progress. The intruder attacked and bound the couple before setting the house on fire and fleeing the scene. A woman was killed and her husband was injured as a result.
Wallace is wanted for First Degree Murder, one count of Felony Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Aggravated Arson, two counts of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, two counts of Especially Aggravated Robbery, and one count of Especially Aggravated Burglary.
He is additionally wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) for a home invasion Thursday on River Rd. MCSO said the victim, who is an elderly woman in her 80s, was returning home from church when Wallace stopped her at her car and forced her into her home at knife point.
Once he was inside the home, Wallace threatened the woman with a loaded rifle. He disassembled the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling for help, then tied her to her bed before fleeing in her vehicle.
Wallace is described as a white man who stands 5’10” and weighs approximately 157 pounds. He has brown and gray hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information about hiss whereabouts should call TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. There is a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to his arrest.
Wallace was also arrested in May 2018 for allegedly breaking into a home on Liberty Parkway, tying a woman to a bed, and threatening to kill her.
