CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A local family recently gave a generous donation to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCAC) that will help dozens of animals.

The Potvin family arrived at the shelter the day after a house fire that displaced 54 animals who had been in a hoarding situation. While volunteering, they came up with another way to help Animal Control.

The family donated $2,500, which will be used to help all of the cats currently in the shelter find a home for the holidays.

Animal Control Director Jeanette Farrell said the money will help find homes for at least 50 cats between now and Christmas Eve.

“We would like to thank the Potvin family for helping save so many lives and for their care and concern about the homeless and unwanted animals of our community,” Farrell said.
