CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville’s Rock Temple Church of God in Christ is asking for donations from the community to help raise funds to bury 73 year-old Edward K. Morris and his daughter, 33 year-old Sherita Morris.

Sherita died unexpectedly July 14, less than a month after her father’s passing on June 27, while attending to his burial arrangements. Her sister, Pennie Cephus, is now responsible for Sherita’s five children in addition to the cost of burying both family members, with no money or insurance available to do so.

Bishop Jessie Gold said that the church felt “something had to be done” to take care of the estimated $2,700 needed to cremate Edward and Sherita Morris. Their bodies are being held at Henry Smith Funeral Home located at 335 Franklin Street.

To contribute, contact Bishop Jessie Gold at 645-6323, or mail donations to the Morris Family Burial Fund, c/o Rock Temple Church of God in Christ, 1061 Rodeer Drive, Clarksville, TN 37042.
