CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Police said 45 assorted rifles and handguns were stolen from a tactical store Friday night.

When officers arrived at the Tactical Edge (1925 Fort Campbell Blvd) at 11:18 p.m., they saw the front door glass was shattered and the door frame was damaged.

There were display cases that had been broken into and firearms removed. Once the owner was contacted and he completed an inventory, it was determined approximately 45 assorted rifles and handguns were taken, valued at over $32,000.

Police believe multiple suspects entered the business and carried off the firearms into a waiting vehicle and left the scene.

Clarksville Police Department spokesman Jim Knoll said that federal authorities will be involved in the investigation.

“We don’t know at this point where the guns are going to go and that’s the scary part. It’s scary for the citizens and scary for the officers also because you don’t know if they are going to stay locally or they’re going to go out of state. They’ll probably end up in the hands of the bad guys,” Knoll said.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information can call Detective Bing, 931-648-0656, ext 5133 or call the Crime Stoppers TIPSLINE 931-645-8477 or go online and submit a tip anonymously at P3tips.com/591.
